Well, I'm in luck. I was cleaning up my house for the party I'm having tomorrow, and I found the sale flyer for the monster after-Christmas yarn sale, and it lasts through Monday! So, hopefully I'll be heading over there on Monday. At last year's sale I bought a whole lot of Jamieson's Chunky Shetland in a dark dusty teal shade I forgot the name of. Haven't knit anything with it yet, but I do have something in mind.

Not a lot of time to knit today, but I did manage to finish the first sleeve cap for DH's sweater, and determine that the length will be correct on him. Yay! I am not looking forward to setting the sleeves into the armholes, but it sure is going to look good. This is a small miracle because I knit the sweater at a slightly larger gauge than specified (my swatch was off, but I liked the fabric of it) and just sort of winged the armhole and sleeve cap shaping, instead of being careful with the arithmetic.

Argh. I'm really chafing to go to the enormous sale at a "nearby" (over an hour away) yarn store. They put all their in-stock yarns at 30% off. I'd like to get some more Cascade 220 for felting, especially since I hear they have an upcoming price increase. But I'm afraid that if I go in there, I'm going to come out with a large bag of Trendsetter's Dune.

I'm still working on the holiday gift knitting. I have a little over half a sleeve to go on DH's Kureyon sweater (#610 from Noro book #11, the one with the textured squares). The amazing thing about this project is that I haven't yet gotten tired of working on it. I love picking the color for the next square. And since I learned to do the sliding loop intarsia method, I can work them individually instead of having to knit with six balls of yarn at once. Tee-hee. I'll be a little sad to say goodbye to this project-- but only a little, considering the bag of Silk Garden I bought last week to knit myself the entrelac sweater from Debbie Bliss Noro 2.

Today my mother spied my new felted purse (Triangle Felted Handbag, from Wool You Order/Two Old Bags). She thought it was gorgeous and wants one. Now, a month ago, when I asked her if she wanted a felted purse, She said "Nah." Sigh.
